Distance
A downloadable game for Windows
This is a small university MA project.
What is "Distance"?
"Distance" is a two-dimensional, pixel/retro art styled, narrative driven game exploring the theme of loneliness and the fear of being forgotten.
Play as a nameless protagonist as they explore a place of familiarity, except something... something is different.
Explore the mind-space of the protagonist as they venture deeper into their old home. What are they if no one remembers them?
Bugs
IMPORTANT: This game was a personal development test for implementing text based dialogue into a game. It worked, but there is one bug that I cannot fix in this game specifically.
When you reach a room with bright white light outside and a long sequence of text boxes play out slowly, the game can softlock. To fix this, press pause and then click "Reset level" - you'll have to repeat the room but it shouldn't happen twice in a row.
Future projects will be using a new dialogue system.
